THE BEST DENTAL TECHNOLOGY
Not all dental offices are created equal.
Dental technology has advanced significantly, but not every dentist wants to make the investment of time and money in some of the newer technologies. New technologies like The Wand and 3D Imaging provide better care for the patient. Dr. Holly believes in having the best equipment so that he can provide superior care and optimize results for his patients.
The Wand – An Excellent Replacement to Needle Injections!
The Wand is essentially a pain free way to administer anesthetic. The Wand is a computer-controlled dental injection.
The flow rate of the local anesthetic is controlled by a computer. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady and therefore comfortable. In most cases, the patient is asking what I am doing as the numbing is being delivered because they literally can't feel anything happening. Most people who have had a bad experience with injections think that needles sting because the skin is pierced, but this is usually not so. Most often, the sting was caused because the anesthetic was fired in too quickly. Obviously, it is possible for the dentist to control the speed with a standard syringe, but the idea of the Wand is to take out the "human error". This can be very reassuring for people with previous bad experiences.
What patients have to say about The Wand:
~“I didn’t even flinch when he did the freezing with The Wand. It was barely noticeable!”
~“The Wand is truly awesome – it has totally changed my attitude towards visiting the dentist.”
~“I used to have IV sedation but have decided I’ll be just fine with The Wand!”
Even though Milestone Scientific - the manufacturers of the Wand - now calls their products CompuDent and STA (Single Tooth Anesthesia) System, "we'll still refer to it as the Wand because it is so magical!"
3D IMAGING - Have you had a detailed image like this taken by your dentist?
This is one of the most advanced tools we have available at West River Dental.
The Sirona Galileos 3D Computed Tomography imaging system is used by Dr. Holly to assist in the placement of Dental Implants as well as look for abnormalities of the jaw bones during the oral cancer screening. The software allows us to do virtual implant surgery prior to the actual surgery. This allows us to make the procedure almost completely predictable and much less invasive than a surgery done without this technology.
